We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Estimator specializing in reconstruction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing project requirements, preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates, and ensuring all aspects of the project are clearly defined and well-documented. You will take ownership of the estimating process from initial assessment through final delivery, providing clients with transparent, well-structured proposals that meet their needs while maintaining profitability and efficiency for the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Interaction:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction throughout the construction process.
  • Educate and guide customers through the project, addressing questions and incorporating desired changes or upgrades.
  • Ensure that all estimates meet client expectations and project requirements.

Project Estimating:

  • Review labor, materials, and time requirements to develop accurate project estimates.
  • Create detailed sketches and initial scopes of work for reconstruction projects.
  • Identify potential constraints or necessary upgrades early in the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to assist with pricing and bid items when necessary.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Use Xactimate software to produce organized and detailed estimates.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy in all estimates provided.
  • Track project profitability and make adjustments to estimates as required.

Project Coordination:

  • Finalize and document the project scope of work, ensuring all elements are accurately captured.
  • Communicate effectively with external resources when needed to support the estimating process.
  • Provide completed estimates to the Project Manager for review and approval.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating or insurance adjusting.
  • Proven experience using Xactimate software.
  • A successful track record of high close ratios on awarded jobs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong math skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Clean driving record.
