JOB SUMMARY

Small Engine Mechanics are key members of our operations team. They are skilled tradespeople with a specialized skill set that ensures the efficient and safe operation of equipment flees, which includes lawnmowers, edgers, trimmers, chainsaws, leaf blowers and other motorized tools used commercial landscaping. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems in small engines and outdoor power equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and preventative measures, including lubricating parts, replacing spark plugs, checking oil and fluid levels, cleaning air filters, and sharpening blades.
  • Repair or replace worn, defective, or broken parts, including engines, fuel systems, ignition systems, and other components.
  • Reassemble and reinstall engines and components after repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, work performed, and parts used.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, including company, DOT, OSHA, and FMCSA fleet, shop, and transportation guidelines.
  • Assist with other maintenance or labor duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITIONS

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis 
  • Drivers License Required
  • Ability to bend and stoop frequently 
  • Must wear work boots, company uniforms, and company-provided PPE at all times, while practicing safe work habits 
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, around insects, poisonous plants, allergens, and other environmental risks 
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
