Position: Mechanical Mechanic

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Split time between shop-based fabrication and field installation.
• Assist in install and set-up of cooling equipment for a variety of commercial, industrial and medical facilities, as needed.
• Sort, lay out and assemble/seal materials.
• Establish work sequence to meet construction schedule.
• Install all mechanical systems and connect to equipment.
• Test and perform quality control on all mechanical systems.
• Interpret isometric drawings.
• Measure and skillfully work to fabricate ductwork using tools metals and machinery.
• Request materials to maintain efficient workflow through the foreman.
• Installation of pumps and VFDs.
• Soldering and brazing of water refrigerant and compressed air systems
• Perform installation of equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications.
• Responsible for final system assemblies and connections.
• Set equipment up for use, including troubleshooting/resolving issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and job orders.
• Ensure all equipment meets code requirements.
• Obtain and maintain necessary certifications applicable to the industry.
• Promote safe working conditions in accordance with OSHA, EPA and other required regulations dealing with proper operation of all equipment.
• Accurately complete necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
• Consistently strive for results that achieve standards of excellence.

Job Requirements:

• Valid Florida driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and background check.
• Minimum of five years piping or duct installation experience, ideally in a commercial HVAC setting.
• Ability to read and understand isometric drawings.
• Experience installing commercial HVAC equipment – Chillers, boilers, fresh air equipment, strongly preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong work ethic and time management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with other team members.
• Good coordination, physical fitness and dexterity.
• Ability to think outside the box to create innovative and money-saving solutions for clients.
• Willingness to work overtime.
• Ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Positive initiative-taker who is coachable and willing to learn new things.
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
