If you're ready to advocate for donation and support families during critical moments, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Present donation opportunities to families and advocate throughout the process.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
    • Identify the legal decision-maker and provide the option for donation.
    • Complete necessary paperwork, including authorization for donation and medical/social history (DRAI).
    • Accurately track and document responsibilities in real-time.
  • Family Support:
    • Guide families through the donation process, explaining authorization, procedures, timing, and recovery.
    • Facilitate memory-making activities when appropriate and approved by the family.
  • Professional Development and Collaboration:
    • Participate in community events and education opportunities.
    • Engage in case debriefs and quality investigations to improve processes.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and skills for continuous professional development.
  • Training and Development:
    • Mentor and train team members in job skills and advanced principles.
    • Develop and update departmental orientation resources.
    • Coordinate and facilitate orientation and training sessions.

Schedule:

  • Participate in scheduled 24-hour on-call shifts.
  • Respond to referral and case activity needs promptly.
  • Respond to emails and communications during shifts.
  • Evening home time unless traveling for a case.
  • Attend department meetings, trainings, and case debriefs as needed.

Expectations:

  • Embrace challenges and seek opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead training initiatives and develop educational resources.
  • Stay up-to-date with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide culturally appropriate support and communication.
  • Contribute to team goals and prioritize donor and workplace safety.

Requirements:

  • Mastery of the Advanced Donation and Family Advocate role.
  • At least 6 months of experience in an advanced advocacy role.
  • Significant positive contributions to the department and organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Background in crisis intervention and advocacy preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, organ procurement, or transplant beneficial.
  • Valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance.
