Vision for this role

We are looking for a motivated and organized Human Resources (HR) Coordinator to support our HR functions and ensure a positive experience for all camp staff. The HR Coordinator will assist with recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance. Ideal for someone who is passionate about Christian ministry and has a heart for serving others through their administrative gifting.

The Role

  • HR Operations: Maintain and support the HRIS processes with speed and accuracy under the direction of the HR Manager while supporting the greater HR team. Performs most of the people transactions of the daily HR operations, including data entry, file maintenance, and reporting. May periodically support Finance in payroll processing.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Support the Recruitment Specialist through assisting with posting job openings, screening assigned applications, scheduling interviews, and supporting the background checks process.
  • Benefits Administration: Assist with the administration of staff benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave management. May respond to general employee questions regarding benefits.
  • HR Compliance: Supports compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations by following established HR procedures and best practices. Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performance Management: Support HR team in the performance review process by tracking timelines, gathering feedback, and assisting managers with performance evaluations.
  • Training & Development: Supports the Coordinate training sessions and professional development opportunities for staff. Ensure that training aligns with the camp's mission and values.

Our ideal candidate

  • Evidenced commitment to the Christian faith and a desire to share the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
  • 2-4 years in a church, faith-based ministry or Christian camp preferred, not required.
  • Exceptional administrative skills with a strong capacity for accurately processing people transactions and operating Hume's HRIS and ATS systems.
  • Entry-level understanding of HR practices, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with a diverse team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive situations, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Desires to conduct all HR activities with a Biblical perspective.
  • Proficiency in HR software, Microsoft Office Suite, and database management.
  • Primary work location is Hume's Fresno office.
  • Able to agree with our Statement of Belief and abide by the Standard of Conduct.
