Front End Loader Operator to join our team. This role is responsible for operating a front-end loader to move, load, and organize materials in a safe and efficient manner on construction sites in the right of way in conjunction with Pipe Laying crews. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of heavy equipment operations, planning of materials needed, and be committed to maintaining productivity and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities: - Operate front-end loader to transport materials such as gravel, sand, soil, concrete, rock, and debris.
- Load trucks, hoppers, bins with raw materials or finished products.
- Inspect equipment before and after operation to ensure safety and maintenance needs are met (e.g., fluid levels, tire condition).
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of the loader to keep it in optimal condition.
- Follow site layouts, grades, and instructions from supervisors or project managers.
- Ensure proper loading techniques to avoid spills, damage, or safety hazards.
- Maintain awareness of surroundings to avoid collisions with personnel, structures, or other equipment.
- Work in various weather conditions and adapt to schedule or task changes as needed.
- Complete daily logs or inspection forms as required by company policy or regulations.
Required Qualifications: - Minimum of 1–3 years of experience operating a front-end loader or similar heavy equipment.
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not always required).
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Familiarity with standard construction site safety practices and protocols.
- Ability to read and follow site plans, maps, and verbal instructions.
Preferred Skills: - Experience with additional heavy equipment (e.g., skid steers, backhoes, excavators).
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of material types and handling best practices.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment.
- Able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in dusty, noisy, and varying outdoor weather conditions.
- Ability to climb in/out of equipment multiple times per day.
Safety And Compliance: - Follow all company and OSHA safety guidelines and regulations.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Report safety concerns, near misses, or mechanical issues immediately.
