About Our Client:

Our client is a well-established healthcare organization seeking a Buyer to manage procurement processes, maintain vendor relationships, and ensure the timely availability of medical supplies and materials. This role requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a healthcare environment.

Job Description:

The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing medical supplies, equipment, and services to support healthcare operations. This role involves managing supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and optimizing procurement strategies to support cost efficiency and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships to ensure consistent supply availability.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts for medical equipment, supplies, and services.
  • Maintain procurement records, including purchase orders and receipts, ensuring compliance with licensing and accreditation requirements.
  • Analyze supply utilization, budget reports, and capital expenditures to recommend cost-saving strategies.
  • Create and manage purchasing requisitions, ensuring timely procurement in line with policies and budget constraints.
  • Prepare and evaluate bids, ensuring optimal pricing and terms.
  • Oversee complex purchasing agreements, including prime vendor and pooled purchase contracts.
  • Act as a liaison between vendors, hospital staff, and purchasing organizations to streamline procurement processes.
  • Provide technical expertise on vendor selection, product specifications, and inventory management.

Qualifications:

Must-Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in a purchasing role within the medical industry.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Familiarity with medical procurement software.

Preferred:

  • Experience in an acute care setting.
  • Proficiency in Lawson software.

Additional Details:

  • Employment Type: Contract (Potential for long-term).
  • Start Date: ASAP (After background clearance).
  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM or 9 AM – 5 PM (Flexible).
  • Interview Process: Virtual or in-person interview, followed by an offer.
  • Screening Requirements: Comprehensive background check, including criminal history, drug screening, and employment verification. Compliance with required immunizations and health screenings (TB, Tdap, MMRV, Hep-B, COVID, and Flu – exemptions available). Confidentiality agreements required.
